PALERMO STREET FOOD

Palermo Street Food is the very first street food tour group in Palermo!

Our gastronomic tour guides accompany groups of 2 people or more to discover the street specialities of palermo such focaccerie, friggitorie, and much more. We illustrate the historical and culinary characteristic of all the street food of Palermo. Palermo Street Food Tours include the oldest and most important family street food vendors.

We are your loving food sherpas in Palermo! We are passionate about our city's local gastronomic street traditions. Sfincione, Pani ca meusa, and Panelle are in our blood. Even when we're not leading tours, you'll find us hanging out around a plate of boiled octopus or in the Vucciria drinking Zibibbo wine! We wholeheartedly agree with Anthony Bourdain when he says, "In Palermo, Street Food is Deadly Serious."

Have you read Jeff Gordinier's list of what to look for in a good Food Sherpa in the New York Times? We recommend it, here.

STREET FOOD & CITY TOUR

The classic Palermo Street Food & City Tour in English will be offered every day (7 days a week) at 10:30 am and at 6:30 pM. The price of the tour is € 30,00 per person. You must reserve your spot on this tour in advance by writing directly to Giorgio.

This classic Palermo Street Food & City Tour in English is a great way to experience Palermo's culture and get in touch with local people. This tour lasts about 3 hours, covers many of Palermo's street food specialties, and highlights much of Palermo's artistic and architectural points of interest. The morning tour is dedicated to the exploration of historical markets  and street food (Capo e Vucciria). The evening tour is dedicated to Palermo's urban life and street food.

Some of the most typical street foods we often taste during our tours are arancina (rice ball), panelle & crocchè (chickpea and potato fritters), the famous pani ca' meusa (spleen sandwich), and the historic Sicilian dessert: il cannolo (cannoli). On this tour, you will also learn all about the food and its history, the recipes, and all the secrets of this unique world of colors, smells, and rich humanity. Also during this tour, your guide will point out the particular architectural, artistic, and structural elements of the city of Palermo.

The street food you will taste on your tour changes based on what is available that day and what is in season. Every tour attendee is free to choose what they would like to buy and eat, respecting their tastes and food restrictions.

The booking must be confirmed at least 48h in advance. We can accept only small groups (2-12 people).
Last minute requests to join a tour will be considered. Feel free to ask us!
Also, if you would like to try and schedule a tour at a different time, please ask!
Write to Giorgio to learn more or to request a tour.

Wine Tasting

Sicily is an amazing region for wine. Some of the best wine in Italy comes from Sicily.

Join our wine tasting to learn about the real tastes and flavors of Sicilian wine. Our Francesca is a local wine expert. She's also a certified sommelier and knows everything there is to know about Sicilian wine.

The wine tasting with Francesca is about 2 hours long and includes 5 different wines.

COOKING CLASS

Our cooking classes take you through the whole process of cooking an authentic Palermitan meal; from shopping for ingredients in one of Palermo's oldest markets, to cooking, to enjoying your home cooked meal. The menu, of course, changes on the basis of seasonality and ingredient availability and will include a customized menu with a bottle of wine for every 4 people. The lesson lasts about 4 hours and is designed for a minimum of 2 people.
